Karen Siggins - Acting Team Leader
Karen is married to Hadyn and they have three wonderful grown children and two great son-in-laws! A one time primary school teacher, Karen has also long been involved in church and community activities and as she completed her theological studies she joined the pastoral team at Lesmurdie in 2004. Karen loves helping people to build relationships and to discover their place in community and, along with preaching and general pastoral responsibilities, she is involved with LBC's Crossover and Connect ministries. These ministries are about building two way traffic between the church family and the wider community and helping people find pathways into the church family.
I am convinced that life is best lived in the context of the good relationships which are made possible through Jesus Christ and that together with God, each other and our community we really are better!

Grant Collins - Asscociate Pastor
Grant and his wife, Jillian, and have been hanging around LBC since their growing family moved to Lesmurdie in 2001. Their three children (William, Daniel and Erin) were all born here and this is their home. Apart from playing footy and cricket with the boys, Grant loves going fishing, riding motorbikes and playing any sport he can find the time for. In April 2007, Grant & Jillian strongly felt the call of God to ministry here at LBC. For Grant, it was time to finish up his high school Chaplaincy role of 11 years and begin a new ministry chapter. Grant says "We have been so blessed. My role at LBC is to oversee our church’s ministries to children, youth and young adults. Sure, it’s a wide brief, but I reckon it has some real advantages. Our Next Generation Ministries goal is to present life-long disciples of Christ as a gift to God and to the Church. What a privilege we have to invest our lives into such a significant goal. Ministry to children, youth and young adults is more than just the sum of its parts. Next Generation ministry is a wider and longer term phenomenon. It is holistic and team based in nature. We all work together, as part of the body of Christ, to achieve our Next Generation Ministries goal. Then we celebrate together when we see what God is doing amongst us! God is good, and we surely know it here at LBC!!!"

Cyrlene Burger - Church Secretary & PA to Acting Team Leader
Cyrlene and her husband Philip with their two children
Zilke-Mari and Jurgen took the big step of moving from South Africa to Melbourne in late 2008. A few months
later they arrived in Perth
and although a second move in such a short time was difficult for the family
Cyrlene says “God was tremendously faithful and so we settled into a new life.”
While Cyrlene and her family were in temporary accommodation waiting to move into a home in the Hills they took off one Sunday morning searching for a church. Following the prompts by the GPS they turned off in Brady Road and found LBC on the left. Cyrlene says “Since we first walked through the front door we have been overwhelmed by the love and warmth of the people. It felt like home!" In June 2009 Cyrlene was been appointed as the church Receptionist and Secretary and currently serves in the workplace as PA to the Acting Team Leader as well. Cyrlene loves people and make a point of creating a warm and friendly space for anyone walking through the front door as well as for people phoning the church. She's passionate about worshipping God and participates as a vocalist in the worship team once a month. She loves the elderly and enjoys connecting with them by doing voluntary chaplaincy visits at the Clarege units behind the church building.

Trevor (Chub) Sykes - SportsLife Leader
Trevor Sykes (a.k.a. Chub) came on staff in 2007, serving in the area of Community Sports Development. Combining his extensive experience in youth work and sport, Chub developed the SPORTSLife program, Basketball Club and a Veteran’s Cricket Team. These initiatives generate links between our church and the community. His time is mostly utilized running SPORTSLife, a values-based sports program that engages young people in physical activity, offering support, encouragement and positive role models.
Chub also works as a Chaplain at Walliston Primary School, and sees this as an extension of his ministry at LBC. In his spare time Chub is currently involved with the Kalamunda Eastern Suns Men’s State Basketball League team as an Assistant Coach. This is a role that is both challenging and rewarding as he connects with the basketball community in the Hills.
Chub is married to Julie and they have 3 children - Jethro, Hannah and Tom. He loves spending time with family and friends; fishing, sports, guitar, good books and a ‘relaxing cuppa’ with his wife. Email: chub.lbc@iinet.net.au

Jacqui Minkey - Children's Ministry Leader
Jacqui has lived in Lesmurdie with her two primary aged sons
since 2004. Traditionally an Anglican, Jacqui sensed the need to take a look at
different churches to find her spiritual home. Lesmurdie Baptist Church soon
became that place, standing out as a warm, welcoming group of people, full of
love, life and laughter. (And the pews have cushions - bonus!)
After working in the church office for three years Jacqui realised the need to step up and out of this role and use her organisational skills, creative talents, sense of fun and child like nature in a different area.
In July 2009 Jacqui took on the role as LBC’s Children’s Ministry Leader. Jacqui volunteers 16 hours per week as an Intern whilst studying full time at Harvest West Bible College to equip herself for future ministry work.
Jacqui’s vision is for each and every child to become the person God created them to be. For each child to live a full and bold life knowing who they are in Christ. Along with parents and carers, Jacqui would love to help each child discover and realise their purpose, their passion, their potential and their place in God’s kingdom.

Jared Beaney - Music Director
Jared has been around here at LBC for some time now, in fact he can't even remember how old he was when he first started attending...although it was while he was in Sunday School! Many years later Jared has grown in his journey with God, particularily through the worship ministry. Jared first started playing on the music roster in 1999, finding a deep connection with God through music. Since then he has studied contemporary music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and taken on more of a leadership role as Music Director. By working closely with the worship teams, Jared arranges and leads the music from week to week, and is passionate about creating a space for the congregation to spend time worshipping God.
Sandra Mortimer - Accounts
Sandra is the wonderful person who makes sure we all get paid and that all the various accounting functions are professionally maintained. Sandra is married to Rodney and is the proud mum of Matthew and Amy.
